SONOMA COUNTY
STORY: This tiny vineyard is planted in hard dry soils, riven with deep fissures, making even the most labor intensive irrigation techniques only minorly effective. A sort of old world style by insistence of nature. In early September, with enticing fruit flavors advancing well ahead of sugars, it was a rare opportunity to make a Pinot Noir that showcases more Burgundian characteristics than is usually possible in the RRV. Which is why we are so excited to start getting to know this wine, from it's perky youth through to its graceful evolution. Fermented on wild yeast in small open-top fermenters. Enjoy with movie popcorn, sautéed wild mushrooms over pasta, grilled lamb, crusty french bread with cold butter, or any charcuterie plate that tickles your fancy.

TASTING NOTES – Engaging aromas of ripe red cherries, dusty milk chocolate, fresh leather, sarsaparilla, cracked white pepper, olive tapenade, orange pith, sugar plums, and vanilla cake batter. The palate opens silky and creamy then grabs your attention with some finely wound youthful structure and lively flavors of cherry pie, shortbread cookies, toasted coconut, and caramelized pan drippings, the three clones still coalescing on the teardrop-shaped mouthfeel that's loaded with promise and creamy milk chocolate icing on the long finish. Connect the dots now and enjoy the evolution as this rare Pinot Noir evolves in preparation for liftoff. (Enjoy 2024 - 2034)
