STORY: Some of the best Merlot in Napa Valley comes from the Oak Knoll district. And year after year, we keep being amazed at this beautiful Oak Knoll Merlot with its wonderful round fruit flavors, and of course, chocolate cake. The temperatures can be a touch cooler and the soils a particular sort of clay loam, that just seem to allow the fruit to develop slowly and fully, with luxurious tannins, charming character, and highlights of hedonistic pleasures. Picked in the last days of September, fermented in four separate open-tops, each bringing forth unique vineyard flavors. The 2017 Merlot Napa Valley is comprised of the best barrels and even portions of barrels that shine the brightest light on what Merlot can be. Pair with the luxurious cheeses, lamb chops, roasted cauliflower.
Blend: 100% Merlot

TASTING NOTES - Welcoming aromas of dusty rose, blueberries, chocolate frosting, hazelnuts, cake batter, earth, framboise, and tea leaf. Flavors are silky, satiny, and satiating, with undulating waves of cocoa, strawberry juice, deep cedar, milk chocolate, lithe and balanced, satisfying and playful, with an underpinning of classic minerality woven throughout.
