VINIFICATION: 2012 was a stellar growing season, giving us the luxury of pushing the envelope in the pursuit of creating mind-blowing wines. We let the grapes on the vine just as long as we pleased. Hang time, the brilliant sunshine of late fall, warm days and cold nights, all combined to put the finishing touches on those succulent. As with all our wines, this was fermented with wild yeast, minimal intervention, in traditional old world style. These days, we tend to vinify all our wines in the Burgundian fashion. Coaxing the maximum flavor and color from the red grapes of Burgundy requires a very specific set of winemaking parameters. And when those techniques are applied to Cabernet Sauvignon, the results can be astounding.

TASTING NOTES: In a word, Scrumdiddlyumptious. In a few more words—opens with alluring aromas of dusty cocoa, chocolate-covered cherries, pipe tobacco, and toasty marshmallow spice. The texture is lithe and lusty, silky and sensuous, a wine brazenly built for unabashed pleasure. And yet, at the center is that classic Cabernet Sauvignon structure that portends dramatic evolution in the decades to come. (Drink now through 2034)
